Somalia 2016 Update

I visited Al Basiir School in Mogadishu today.

I spent time with blind children who come to learn and some who also live here. (Most are orphans). I sat with them and ate with them. I observed them. Such resiliance, patience and strong characters. This school has been operating for 10 years and struggles day to day providing education/food and a place to sleep for many orphans with lack of funding.

Visually Impaired Muslims Mavin informing us Christian missionaries were aggresively converting Muslims through braille bibles

We had received requests for braille Qurans from Nigeria since 2012 from the Visually Impaired Muslims Mavin informing us Christian missionaries were aggresively converting Muslims through braille bibles, and this was due to the unavailability of braille Qurans. However it was very challenging delivering braille Qurans to Africa as the costs were prohibitive.

Alhamdulillah we have now established a reliable and relatively inexpensive method of shipping braille Qurans as well as English translations and braille primers for beginners, and we are covering all parts of Nigeria inshaa Allah.

We are pleased to have the support also of brother Zahir Uddin and the One Life Global charity in Manchester UK to fulfil the needs of the nigerian Muslims.
