Bilal and Dr Sariat received Braille books from Alfitrah foundation today.
Bilal is based in London and had been teaching the blind how to read the Quran. He requested Braille primers for teaching as well as various Islamic books.
Dr Sariat is a lecturer at a college for special needs students in Oyo, Nigeria and runs courses for teachers of the blind. We look forward to exchanging files of Braille Islamic books so that more people can benefit from us sharing knowledge.
For many Gazans -living under seige for the last 13 years deprived of freedom- the Quran is a source of inner strength to cope with the daily suffering.
Dar alQuran AlKareem Gaza has received 100 Braille Qurans from us in Malaysia and has started holding classes there but there are many more blind people who call them to ask to join.
The cost of one student is USD50 /RM200 per month or USD300/ RM1200 per 6 months . This covers teachers salaries, transportation, and activities. Please make a donation of any amount, they will be truly grateful for a chance to learn and memorise the Quran.

Brother Askar Kz learnt Arabic Braille in Malaysia when studying at University here and went back this summer with new Braille books he made at our office.
Alhamdulillah this Ramadan, Alfitrah foundation has hosted iftars in Malaysia and Palestine for the visually impaired. We also sponsored an iftar for 100 female students and their teachers at Dar alQuran Al Kareem.
Jawad naderpoor in Kabul reading the Braille Quran we sent him. Alhamdulillah our Braille Qurans have been able to reach people all over the world.
