Visitors from Kazakhstan

On January 10th, Brother Askar Shakirov and his mother visited the Al Fitrah Foundation, where they were warmly welcomed by Puan Sri Norma Hashim and Brother Abdul Majid. They discussed the Kazakh Braille project, focusing on improving the quality of Braille books and expanding the range of educational materials for visually impaired students in Kazakhstan

e-Brelle Laptop Handover at Kolej Darul Quran JAKIM

Al Fitrah Foundation donated e-Brelle tablets to three students at Kolej Darul Quran JAKIM in mid-January. The ceremony was attended by Ustaz Dr. Yusri Mazlan, the Deputy Academic Director, along with other representatives from the administrative unit.

Brother Abdul Majid, representing Al Fitrah Foundation, spoke about the importance of knowledge and the Qur'an, highlighting how e-Brelle can help students in their Qur'anic studies. Dr. Yusri Mazlan thanked the Foundation and reminded students that the Qur'an in e-Brelle should be treated with the same respect as a physical Qur'an.

A Courtesy Visit

A delegation from Madrassa An-Noor for the Blind visited Al Fitrah Foundation visited Al Fitrah Foundation recently. A NEW ONLINE STUDENT

In late November, a visually impaired sister from New York began her first online Braille Primer session with us. She has been diligently participating in a weekly, one-hour session. An active advocate for the blind community in her area, she was introduced to the Qur'anic Braille Primer published by Al Fitrah Foundation by a fellow student of Brother Majid. Motivated to learn the Arabic alphabet, she aspires to eventually read the Braille Qur'an. Inshaa Allah.

BRAILLE QURAN INITIATIVE IN PAKISTAN

The Al Fitrah Foundation, in collaboration with the Braille Resource Foundation Pakistan, distributed 163 Braille Qurans across Pakistan between May and July 2024. The second phase of the program, running from August to December 2024, aims to distribute an additional 326 copies, with nearly 200 already delivered. Maulana Waqar Younus, President of the Braille Resource Foundation, praised the program, noting that for the first time in 10 years, 60 Qurans were ready ahead of schedule. The initiative has been positively received by visually impaired individuals, providing them with greater access to the Holy Quran and spiritual knowledge.
