On 02.02.24 We moved to our new office. The location is still in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur, close to the MRT Station.
The team familiarised themselves with the new routes to and from the station and are pleased with the new working environment.
We look forward to receiving more guests this year and continuing with work as usual. Here are some of the activities we would like to share with you.
Al Fitrah Foundation has been providing food aid to help Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh through Madrassa Ma’had Khaled bin Waleed (R) Al-Islam at Nayapara Camp since 2021.
Ustaz Sayed Amin teaches religious studies at the Madrassa. Together with 5 other Ustads and 3 teachers, he runs the Madrassa and educates 180 students and 40 orphans (boys and girls).
The editorial team has been busy trying out the E-BRAILLE 2.0 from E-BRELLE Laptop for the Blind.
Majid, Amir, and Mike have given their collective feedback!
“Overall, congratulations to the E-BRELLE team for creating something new in Malaysia. This tool is portable, light and can be taken anywhere. It is suitable for individuals, secondary school, and university students.
Majid and Mike will be participating in the National Braille Quran Recitation Competition (MTQB) 2023 from 30 November – 3 December 2023 organised by PERTIS (Malaysian Islamic Association of the Visually Impaired) at Hotel Zecon in Kuala Lumpur.
Both Majid and Mike have registered for the Recitation of Al-Quran Braille in Tarannum category.
We have two volunteers reading books for transcription at Al Fitrah Foundation. Both are authors.
Datin Syarifah reads every Tuesday, and Liza Shahida on Mondays.
Book of Poems
Datin Syarifah was inspired to write poetry during the Covid-19 lockdown.
There is a poem in her book about the joys and sorrows of a visually impaired person’s life inspired by Majid.
