Our braille Qurans in the hands of the blind in India. This is Muhammad Walid Khan a 23 year old hafidz of the Qur’an from Uttar Pradesh, he is training to be an imam.

The next photo is Sohail Rafiq a 28 year old hafidz. Alhamdulillah AlFitrah foundation’s braille press here in Malaysia produces braille Qurans and Islamic texts and guides for the blind everywhere in the world.

Handed over 20 workbooks on Math and Science to Puan Zaidah

Alhamdulillah today we handed over 20 workbooks on Math and Science to Puan Zaidah and the teachers from Sekolah Menengah Pendidikan Khas Setapak , a secondary boarding school for the visually impaired.

The teachers and our staff have spent a month preparing the books using craft materials , brailon paper and our thermoform machine. Inshaa Allah the students will find the books beneficial and we look forward to more collaboration with the school . May Allah bless all those who took part in this to help the students learn better.

Islam Is Brotherhood

Alhamdullilah, two sets of Al Fitrah Braille Quran arrived at the Al Noor Blind Madrasa, Door No. 45 Navalar Nagar, 2nd Street, S.S. Colony, Madura in Tamilnadu, India on 15 January 2022.

The initiative was coordinated by Brother Mohamed Ansari and others from Sadaqah20. Together, they arranged for the delivery of the braille Qurans.

On 21 January 2022, after Jumaat Prayers, the braille Qurans were presented to two top students of the Madrasa.

Haji Mustafa, who runs the Madrasa for 35 visually impaired and one physically challenged students, was very pleased to receive the gifts. Haji Mustafa not only teaches braille at the Madrasa, he is their mentor. He encourages his students to strive in learning and understand the holy Quran, and to read other braille books to improve themselves. The students live around the S.S. Colony area and are from very poor surroundings.

Constant du’as give us strength to carry on with life when things seem stressful or difficult to resolve. AlFitrah Foundation Braille Quran Initiative wanted to produce a book of du’a in English braille for the blind around the world.

Collaboration for the Visually Impaired in East Kazakhstan Region

Al Fitrah Foundation has been working closely with its counterparts internationally since its inception in 2014. Alhamdulillah, in the case of our brother, Ustaz Askar Shakirov, we have come a long way. As after completing the Braille course and the Kazakh primary syllabus in 2013, in Malaysia, together with his peers, they returned to Kazakhstan and started the first ever classes in Arabic Braille. From then on until now, they have taught around 100 visually impaired individuals in Kazakhstan at their centre in Almaty, in Semey, East Kazakhstan region.

So far, these students have become very well versed in terms of Arabic Braille and even memorized many parts of the Braille Al Quran and they are now training their own students, Alhamdulillah.
